The New York Times is reporting that Eli Broad plans to build a new museum for his collection in Beverly Hills. No word on what he'll call it. ("Broad Contemporary Art Museum" is taken. Damn!) No word on whether he'll actually be donating art to the latest Broad museum. (He may want to keep his options open.)
One thing about the announcement is no surprise: Michael Govan says he's not surprised. Broad could say he's invisible, and Govan would say it's no surprise to anyone at LACMA.
