Oschin Center Opens Nov. 13

The California Science Center has announced Nov. 13, 2026, as the opening date for its Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center. Rising twenty stories above the Exposition Park rose garden (to display the space shuttle Endeavor in its vertical launch configuration), the Ochin Center will also fit a Korean Airlines 747 into its approximately 200,000 square feet of programmable space.
The Oschin will cap a year of museum openings in Los Angeles that includes LACMA's David Geffen Galleries, Dataland, and the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art (to open Sep. 22).

Looks almost real. Which makes me think of a report yesterday that suggests today's society is truly staring into the abyss.
News has come out that a very powerful form of AI has managed to break into encrypted parts of a US government agency where high security is of the utmost importance. Reports said the AI program was able to do that in hours, not days.
As for the Oschin, it's just east of the Natural History Museum, which, in turn, is where LA's pre-Wilshire public art museum was once located. In 2026, LACMA is still showing a 60-year-old hangover from that, and AI may make mincemeat of both that and LA's economy linked to the museum west of the Geffen Galleries. In turn, DataLand's shelf life probably will be affected by the same thing.
