Raqib Shaw Show to Huntington

A touring exhibition of London-based Indian artist Raqib Shaw will appear at the Huntington Nov. 16, 2024, to Mar. 3, 2025. Shaw is known for hyper-detailed paintings inspired by global Old Masters. 

Organized by Zehra Jumabhoy, "Raqib Shaw: Ballads of East and West" appeared at the Frist Art Museum, Nashville, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston. It is currently at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Shaw is quite technically talented and his creative sense is more appealing than that of the pre-Raphealites of the 1800s. When looking up his name I mistakenly clicked on this person:

So many skilled people in any field or profession. So the tastemakers and gatekeepers (and marketplace too) really do determine who's up or down, who's in or out.

I wonder if the Lucas museum will affect the Raqib Shaws of the art world compared with the [insert name of an abstract or non-figurative artist here]?
