Too bad the article should didn't bother to mention that LACMA's new building will have lots of windows. Lots and lots of them.

It is not a structure for man without windows. The first doors were windows, thus making space inhabitable. The second windows made space for light or looking. With the second window, space takes on a religious function. Lots and lots of windows is not a bad thing.
It's sort of is when both the budget is bloated and the modus operandi is increasingly - to quote the LA Times - "...just newer and now-er. It might even be said to be worse, given the cramped narrowness today driving the entire institution. LACMA might be a de facto museum of contemporary art, but frankly it's not a very good one."
