Ellen Gallagher is having her first one-artist show in Los Angeles at Hauser & Wirth. "Ellen Gallagher: Accidental Records" (through Jan. 28, 2018) centers on a series of 2017 paintings inspired by the slave trade and Melvillian metaphysics.
