The Japanese American National Museum and ShiPu Wang of UC Merced have organized a nationally traveling exhibition of the work of three women modernists. "Pictures of Belonging: Miki Hayakawa, Hisako Hibi, and Miné Okubo" brings together over 80 paintings and drawings by artists whose careers were interrupted by the World War II interment of Japanese Americans. The show is at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Salt Lake City (through June 30, 2024), and will travel to the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Monterey Museum of Art, and JANM, Los Angeles (in late 2026).
