Mullin's Classic Cars Go on the Block

Installation view of Mullin Automotive Museum, Oxnard
It's rare for an automobile museum to survive its founder. Oxnard's Mullin Automotive Museum was shuttered five months after the Sep. 2023 death of collector Peter Mullin. Though Mullin had recently commissioned Norman Foster to design a lavish museum for his collection in West Oxfordshire, England, that ambitious project appears to be off the table as well. The Mullin family has been auctioning the collection, with 115 lots going on the block today, at Gooding & Co.

Four of Mullin's most notable cars were donated to the Petersen Automotive Museum.

Seems like he gave the best of the lot to the Petersen Museum.
