Noguchi Loan at the Huntington

The Huntington is showing Bust of Rosita Winstona carved ebony portrait by Isamu Noguchi. The sitter was a New York socialite. From the 1930s onward Noguchi created streamlined likenesses of prominent figures such as George Gershwin, Martha Graham, Ginger Rogers, and Buckminster Fuller. The bust was auctioned by Bonhams (for $18,825, in 2019), and is on loan to the Huntington's American galleries from Kevin Rowe and Irene Vlitos Rowe.
