The UCLA Hammer Museum will inaugurate its new drawings and prints gallery with "A Decade of Acquisitions of Works on Paper," (Feb. 13–May 1, 2022). The Michael Maltzan Architects-designed space, which includes a new study room for the Grunwald Center, will occupy the site of the former bookstore. (The latter will eventually be replaced by a new mezzanine-level bookstore, visible from the street.)

"A Decade of Acquisitions" will present drawings by Ruth Asawa, Lee Bontecou, Charles Burchfield, Judy Chicago, Mary Corse, Sam Gilliam, and David Smith; prints by Richard Artschwager, Huma Bhabha, Vija Celmins, Sonia Gutiérrez, Rashid Johnson, Glenn Ligon, Betye Saar, Rachael Whiteread, and Sue Williamson, among many others.
