Frank Lloyd Wright Hollyhock House Will Reopen Aug. 18

The Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Hollyhock House will reopen Aug. 18, 2022, for self-guided tours. Other Barnsdall Park institutions, including the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, are expected to reopen in the near future. The site is the last major cultural campus in L.A. to be closed due to the pandemic. 

Restoration work (which seems endless) continued during the closure. Visitors will find refurbished cast stone, windows, woodwork, and landscaping at Hollyhock House. Residence A, a guest house also designed by Wright, received an exterior refresh. Work on the guest house interior continues.

Advance tickets for Hollyhock House tours (required) are now on sale. A free sunset lawn party celebrating the reopenings is planned for the Hollyhock House lawn on Sat., Aug. 20, 2022, from 4 to 8 PM.
