LACMA + MOCA = ?

LACMA has proposed a "partnership" with MOCA (which they're pointedly not calling a merger). The LACMA press release promises a continuation of MOCA's name and programs. The MOCA collection and exhibitions are to be shown at the Geffen building, LACMA's Broad Contemporary Art Museum, and the Resnick Pavillion, whose girders are already rising. The one-page proposal is oddly vague about the California Plaza site, saying it will be used for "additional programs." So far, this is LACMA's unilateral move, with no reaction from MOCA.
