Nigerian Bronzes Pledged to Fowler

Mark Clayton has promised a collection of 150 Nigerian bronze bells and ofos to the UCLA Fowler Museum. (An ofo is a staff of power, displayed in ancestral altars.)

A selection will go on view this September in "Summoning the Ancestors: Southern Nigerian Bronzes" (Sep. 16, 2018–Mar. 10, 2019).
