The Orange County Museum of Art will feature a  24-by-16 ft. Sanford Biggers sculpture at its new Morphosis/Thom Mayne-designed home in Segerstrom Center. Of many waters… references a 19th-century Baule mask, a European river god, and American quilt-making. Sequins attached to the surface will create a kinetic effect in sunlight and breezes. OCMA director Heidi Zuckerman curated Biggers' first museum exhibition (2002) at the UC Berkeley Art Museum.

OCMA's new building is to open Oct. 8 with a rebooted California Biennial, single-artist shows on Fred Eversley and Peter Walker, and an installation of women artists' work in the collection.
