LACMA has announced its first exhibition of John Gerrard's Solar Reserve (Tonopah, Nevada), the 2014 video installation first shown at Lincoln Center, New York, and purchased for the L.A. museum by Leonardo DiCaprio. Set in a monolithic LED screen, it's a digital simulation of a solar power planet in the Nevada desert. The perspective and the virtual sun's angle changes with time of day.

"John Gerrard: Solar Reserve" will be shown on the Resnick Lawn July 12–Sep. 3, 2018.
