Xu Zhen's "In Just a Blink of an Eye" at MOCA

Xu Zhen's In Just a Blink of an Eye (2014) is a peformance piece in which nothing happens. Falling actors are are frozen in bullet-time, a metaphor for life out of balance. (A conjurer's gimmick makes the gravity-defying poses possible.) MOCA has acquired In Just a Blink for its collection and will present it on weekends July 27 to Sep. 1, 2019, at Grand Avenue.

Klaus Biesenbach included Zhen's piece in a 2014 exhibition he co-curated in Basel. It's since been shown in Beijing, the U.K., and New York.
