German Artist to Document "Doomed" LACMA
The New York Times has reported that LACMA director Michael Govan has commissioned German artist Vera Lutter to document William Pereira's LACMA buildings (identified as "doomed structures"). The Pereira buildings are of course set to be razed for Peter Zumthor's planned new structure. Lutter is known for monumentally scaled pinhole camera images of industrial spaces. In 1999 Govan commissioned her to photograph the Nabisco box factory that became Dia:Beacon (one example below).
